Meet the community we are sponsoring in partnership with organisation, Friends of Martin De Porres. This community center, called “Ethandweni” meaning “place of love” in Zulu, is located in the Gauteng province of South Africa and provides education and day care to over 200 preschool children and distributes over 1,000 meals a week to women and children from local and neighbouring provinces including Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Malawi, Lesotho, and Swaziland.

Our MEDspired physicians, Dr. Aunna & Dr. Leo, recently visited the site on behalf of MEDspiration and can be seen below distributing food to the children of this community which is made possible every week, only through the help of donations from sponsors. This community center is run solely by volunteers and without them and the help of sponsors, these children lack access to very basic needs such as clean water, sanitation and food.

Our current mission: to help provide clean water for a small community located in the Gauteng province of Barcelona, South Africa. MEDspiration aims to acquire the following to deliver to this community center.
– Drilling one water well ($8000.00)
– Providing two 2500L water tanks ($550.00 each)
The remainder of the funds will be allocated towards food, sanitation, and education costs at this community center.
