Being Happy is Being Healthy

Conquer Your Mind and You Will Conquer the World

The human ego is the root inspiration of all fear, self judgement, judgement of others. Although a useful tool, in terms of survival, if you are not disciplined in finding a balance with your ego, you may find yourself becoming angered easily by others, easily giving into your desires, constantly seeking fulfillment from everything outside yourself, and having a generally unhappy aura. Happiness aids in healthy immune system function and lowers stress-related hormones. Here are four steps on how to remove the ego and live a happier lifestyle:

1. CHOOSE LOVE: Whenever you’re afraid, it is proof that you have turned your back on love and chosen to have faith in the ego. Love is the only emotion. Fear is an illusion. As soon as you have a fearful or anxious thought, tell yourself: “love did not create this thought, and so it is not real.”

2. NEVER COMPLAIN: Complaining is a self-imposed separation that keeps us locked in negativity. Train your mind to see good in every situation no matter what. Habitual recurrence to this harmony will increase your mastery of it.

3. SILENCE IN NATURE: Take time each day to commune with nature and to silently witness the intelligence within every living thing. Sit silently and watch a sunset, or listen to the sound of the ocean or a stream, or simply smell the scent of a flower. This brings you into the present and removes us from the past and future.

4. PRACTICE NON-JUDGEMENT: Begin your day with the statement, “Today, I shall judge nothing that occurs,” and throughout the day remind yourself not to judge individuals or any situations.
