How to Transform the Heart

In order to love who we are, we cannot hate the experiences that have shaped our hearts. Our emotional wellness can be considered an acquired life skill if we choose to perceive all parts and pieces of ourselves in a positive way, this includes our flaws and shortcomings. Research points to the importance of certain kinds of training that can alter brain circuits in a way that will promote positive responses; some evidence suggests thatemotional wellness can be improved upon by developing these skills. For example, our attitude of our experiences directly influences the regulation of our endocrine axes by forming a neuro-endocrine continuum that integrates information intake, processing, and behavioral response. This phenomenon even influences the way our heart beats. By choosing to anchor our attention, memory, and behavior from a ‘growth’ perspective, we can create an internal environment that allow us to become the most effective version of ourselves mentally, physically, and spiritually. This action of monitoring our attitude, in turn, can literally transform our hearts and disposition and even impact our immunologic, metabolic, and energetic activities. With this in our hearts, let’s make the intentions to equally value every experience that comes into our lives; the good, the bad,  the ugly.
